Hey! How are y'all doin'? This is Frank, yer eDICKtor. I'm sorry about
taking up space with dat disclaimer on top, but I figure that an essay
dealing with MAXIMIZING MASS-MURDER KILL COUNTS leaves a noticeable draft on
your humble eDICKtor's valuable position as a respected and law-abiding
member of the community. So, I am covering MY ASS with a disclaimer up
there!

So anyway, today is December 22, 1989, a coupla dayz before Christmas.
Is your humble eDICKtor thinking of partridges in pear trees? Is he dream-
ing of a "White Christmas"? Is he prowling the streets of Brooklyn carrying
misletoe and holding it over strange women's feet as he pulls off their
shoes and kisses their feet? Is it even remotely possible that the festive
holiday season has managed to penetrate his psychopathic soul??? The answer
to ALL these questions is NO!

On December 6th, about 2 weeks ago, Marc Lepine killed 14 young women in
Montreal, Canada and set an all-time record high for mass-murder kills in
one day for that country. Ever since then Frankster has had a major case of
mass-murder on his otherwise care-free and light headed brain. So, here we
are, after two weeks of these thoughts floating around my brain, they are
finally being put into written form in this essay. Isn't THAT special?!

Let me first state the topic of this essay, which is: How To Kill A
Large Number Of People Using A Gun (Or Guns). Yes, you CAN kill lots of
people in other ways, such as poison, bombs, arson, etc...BUT you won't
learn how in THIS essay! HELL NO! Only GUNS are discussed in THESE pages.

Yes, my friends, it's the All-American pastime called: Maximizing Your
Mass-Murder Kill Count- sure to come in handy on NUMEROUS occassions!

The record high for mass-killings in the United States in a single day
using guns is TWENTY-ONE. On July 18, 1984, James Oliver Huberty walked into
a McDonalds fast-food resturant in San Ysidro, California and shot 21 people
dead. That is the record high. I personally think that is NOT a very high
number. Talk is cheap- talk is VERY cheap, my friends! So, let's SHOOT the
bull for awhile...

The making of a successful massacre involves the following: good guns, a
powerful and LARGE quantity of ammunition, good shooting technique, element
of suprise attack, inability of victims to escape from confined areas, good
mental state of gunman, attack of a poorly defended location, and a single
and clear-cut goal. In MY opinion, this is THE basic checklist of the
ingredients needed for a successful massacre. Of course, there are NO
guarentees... Hell, you might invade a nunnery and one of the sisters might
have a loaded automatic underneath her habit and blow you away before you
can even START your massacre! The very nature of mass-murder involves
possibilities of risk and failure. What follows are simply my thoughts on
how to maximize the body count and minimize the risk of failure.

We begin with guns and ammunition. The following have absolutely NO
BUSINESS being used in a massacre attempt: ALL .22, .25, .32, .38 caliber
guns, ALL revolvers, ALL semi-automatics with a magazine capacity of LESS
than 13 rounds.

Look, we all know that any one bullet can kill any one person, assuming
that a head or heart shot is made. However, massacres are not controlled
situations- we need to use ammunition of sufficent power to cause death
without necessitating perfectly placed shots. And, in addition, we need a
large quantity of ammunition in a short period of time. Thus, ALL of the
"minor" caliber guns are out, and all revolvers are likewise eliminated. A
.357 or a .44 caliber magnum revolver is quite decent for something like an
assination attempt (or serial killings), but the have NO PLACE in a
massacre. In massacres, a balance must be reached between (1) A need for
destructive power, and (2) A need for a large amount of ammunition to be
accessible and ready to be fired immediately. This leaves semi-automatics
and full-automatics. Fully automatics are THE best, but they are very
difficult to accquire. There are books that describe how to convert a
semi-auto rifle to fire fully automatic, but I personally feel that unless
you are an experienced machinist or gunsmith, that the risks of attempting a
successful conversion outweigh the benefits of full-auto firepower.

A semi-automatic, either rifle OR pistol, will get the job done only
slightly less successfully than the full-auto. Here are some conserative
numbers (it is quite easy to operate semi's even faster than this with some
practice): During a massacre, taking general aim without sighting in one the
target, one round can easily be fired every two seconds. If you choose to
sight in on the target, one shot every three seconds. Releasing an empty
magazine, inserting a fully loaded one and cycling a round into the chamber
is easily done in five to seven seconds. Using these figures, it is obvious
that in the time span of five minutes (which equals 300 seconds), between
100 and 150 rounds of ammunition can EASILY be fired. This number COULD
approach TWO HUNDRED if the gunman is familiar with the weapon and has
practiced speed shooting at a firing range prior to the massacre attempt.

What caliber of ammunition is best? My personal choice is the 9mm (nine
millimeter) round. Besides the 9mm, I also like the .308 Winchester, the
.223, and the .45 ACP. As I said earlier, a balance between powerful ammo
and the need for a large amount of ammo is vital. Tipping the scale too far
in either direction could limit your kill count. I like the 9mm "speciality"
rounds. These bullets cost around $1.25 EACH, but if you're going to do a
massacre, I cannot see money being a viable consideration. The "Glaser
Safety Slug" is a 9mm bullet loaded with about 50-60 tiny pellets of #12
guage shot that explodes upon impact with the target. The "Multiple
Projectile Cartridge" actually seperates into TWO bullets once it is fired
from a gun, BEFORE it makes contact with it's target, thus for every round
fired, two seperate bullet entry wounds are created, each about 2-4 inches
apart from the other. Anyone looking to maximize kill counts should
consider these "buck-a-bullet" rounds.

BUT, an important point must be made; MANY guns, even BRAND-NEW ones,
will only feed certain bullet types reliably. For example, many 9mm guns
will feed heavy, full metal jacket bullets perfectly, but if you use a
lightweight hollowpoint, there will be an occassional "failure to feed".
When you are in the middle of a massacre, the LAST thing you need is for
something like THIS to happen! Practice your shooting using the EXACT same
ammunition that you plan to use in the massacre. If you EVER experience even
ONE failure to feed or "stovepipe jam" using a particular ammunition, then
you should NEVER consider using this ammo in your massacre. What you SHOULD
consider is having your gun modified to feed that particular ammo if you
feel it is best for your massacre. Any gunsmith can do this for you. All you
have to do is bring the gun and a box of the ammo to the gunsmith. He can
"customize" your gun so that it will feed that ammo perfectly. Another thing
that most any gunsmith can do is replace your gun's standard "magazine
release button" with an extra-large and quicker releasing one. This offers a
small but possibly significant advantage in a massacre-type situation where
the gunman must release the empty magazines many times and replace them with
fully loaded ones. An extra-large button can make this action quicker and
more fumble-free, especially since the midst of a massacre is a stressful
time for the gunman.

Lets talk magazines: Since a gunman can easily fire 100-150 rounds in a
five-minute time span, it is fairly obvious that one can never have too much
ammunition on hand. Anyone who undertakes a massacre with less than 500
rounds on hand is limiting himself. It may be that he will never get a
chance to shoot half that, but having more than need can never hurt (but,
having LESS than needed can HURT PLENTY!). Personally, I would take
ONE-THOUSAND rounds... Yes, it will be heavy, especially if you carry it all
on your person, but HEY- NOBODY EVER SAID MASSACRES WERE EASY! If you want
easy, then commit suicide. Successful massacres take dedication, planning,
effort, and determination... and MONEY too!

You will need magazineS, LOTS of 'em! This is no problem in terms of
acquiring- any gun dealer will order, direct from the factory where the gun
was made, any number of magazines with no questions asked. For example: if
your gun uses 30 round magazines, you will need to order THIRTY-THREE mags.
Yes, 33! And fully load ALL of them with 30 rounds of ammunition before you
set out on your massacre. This will give you 1000 rounds at your immediate
disposal during the massacre. Obviously, if your semi-auto accepts smaller
or larger magazines, then you need to adjust the number of magazines needed
accordingly.

You MUST have ALL of your magazines FULLY LOADED when you begin the
massacre, in order to maximize the kill count! It is FOOLISH to plan on
taking a "time-out" during the massacre to reload an empty magazine. It only
takes 5 to 7 SECONDS to release an empty magazine an insert a new, fully
loaded one. To actually LOAD an empty 30 round magazine would take about TWO
MINUTES! This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE in a mass-murder situation.

A semi-auto pistol that uses a 15 round magazine will do the job only a
LITTLE slower than a semi-auto rifle that uses 50 round mags! As long as you
start out with FULLY LOADED mags, and have a LOT of them, then a 15 round
semi-automatic pistol is good enough. Obviously, the rifle would be BETTER,
but the advantage would be quite small in my opinion.

ANYONE who undertakes a massacre carrying only ONE firearm is a FOOL!
Guns DO jam. Guns malfunction. If you have only one and it fails after
you've only shot a few people, then your massacre is "shot to hell" (no pun
intended)! Unless you can clear the malfunction, the WHOLE THING IS OVER!
You MUST carry a MINIMUM of TWO GUNS, and if at all possible, they should be
IDENTICAL! EXACT same make and model. The reason this is important is
because of the MAGAZINES. If both guns are identical, then ALL of the
magazines you are carrying will function in EITHER gun. This is a BIG
advantage. I will say this: It is better to carry TWO guns, both identical,
than it is to carry FIVE guns that each use different mags. The odds of two
guns malfunctioning at the same time are very small. Obviously, if you can
get THREE guns of the SAME make and model, that's better than two! However,
anything over three guns is OVERKILL (no pun intended)! It is much better to
carry extra magazines than it is to carry extra guns. Three guns are enough.
Carrying more than that will slow you down, and could limit the number of
MAGAZINES that you can carry. In this case, BULLETS are MORE important than
guns.

We now move to a new topic, which is: "Good Shooting Techniques". Good
shooting techniques in a mass-murder situation are different than in any
other shooting situation. Accuracy is NOT very important. Making every shot
count is NOT very important. Conserving ammunition is NOT very important.
"One shot-one kill" is NOT very important. Avoiding hitting innocent
bystanders is of NO IMPORTANCE AT ALL!!! I will tell you what IS important:
It is VITAL that you get people down on the ground at the start of the
massacre. This is so they cannot escape or try to wrestle your weapon away
from you. At the start of a massacre, you NEVER aim at ANYONE'S head! You
shoot in wide arcs, covering all of your targets, and you aim at the
midsection of the body. You hit people in the lower chest, stomach, groin,
and upper thigh area... the midsection. This is THE most effective type of
fire at the START of a mass killing. The wounds caused by these midsection
will put the injured ON THE GROUND. FATALITY is NOT the goal of this first
barrage of gunfire. The goal IS to immobilize the people so that your
position is unchallenged by ANYONE. Even those people not hit by gunfire
will most likely be in shock over all the blood pouring out of their
friends/relatives/co-workers,etc... Once this initial barrage of gunfire,
probably 40-60 rounds worth has been fired. Now you can deliberately sight
in on the wounded and finish each one off with four or five shots to the
chest area. 4-5 hits to the chest area have a about a 95% fatality rate.
Since the chest area is BIGGER than the head, that is why I would aim at the
chest. However, the visual feast of seeing "brains getting blown out" is an

important consideration. If you are an experienced target shooter and have
good eyesight (I do not have good eyesight), then you can choose to
concentrate on head and face shots rather than those to the chest. The
fatality rate will be just as good, if not better, and you will have the
more exciting visual situation. However, if you are not experienced with
shooting the gun, then I suggest sticking to the chest area to maximize the
kill count.

One VERY important point: If your massacre takes place in a situation
where one or more of the people involved attempts to resist OR to encourage
other people to resist, OR is viewed as an "authority figure" by the other
members of the group you plan to massacre, you MUST, I repeat you MUST kill
this person first! Shoot him 25 times!!! Mutilate his body with gunfire!
This is crucial- you MUST assume COMPLETE CONTROL over the group at the
START of the massacre. Let me explain: The fact is that if you are a lone
gunman against...let's say...fifty people. Those fifty people, all unarmed
even, can easily rush you and disarm you IF they have a "leader", someone
who gives the orders and is respected and viewed as an "authority figure" by
the others in the group. This type of situation virtually never occurs,
because people are in shock and are too frightened to think of anything
except begging for mercy, praying to God, hugging their wounded friends,
etc... But if there is a leader in that group of people, then HE IS
DANGEROUS! You MUST single him out and kill him FIRST! If you kill him, then
the other people will immediately abandon any thought of overpowering you by
sheer numbers. The way to spot an "authority figure" is to locate the source
of the loudest coherant words and/or shouting of instructions. Nobody ever
expects a massacre- There will definately be TOTAL confusion as the shooting
begins. IF there IS indeed an "authority figure" present, this person will
most likely attempt to give some "orders" by shouting things like: "Run to
the nearest exits!" or "Don't panic people!" or "Rush him! Grab his gun!",
etc... Your job as a mass killer is to locate the person whose voice you
hear- everyone else will be crying or praying or screaming incoherantly.
Locate this "authority figure" and concentrate your gunfire on him and anyone
around him until the shouting of instructions stops! Then, this "leader" is
most likely dead, and you can resume sweeping the entire area as before.

In closing, I will say this: There is absolutely NO excuse for any large
number of WOUNDED people to survive. If you shoot a person anywhere, even if
it's only in the arm or the leg, this person is most likely on the ground.
He is an easy target. Finish him off with a burst of gunfire to the head or
chest. Fatalities are what count- not the wounded that eventually recover.
Don't ever be stingy with the ammunition- Like I said before, carry 500
rounds as the minimum. If someone is lying on the ground and you see him
moving an arm or a leg, shoot into that area until you see his body jerk and
you recognize a hit, then continue to sweep the entire room. Don't spend TOO
much time on any one person, but DO keep in mind that as long as someone is
moving he is still alive. DO NOT assume that he will bleed to death...
FINISH THE JOB!

I personally view Patrick Purdy's Stockton, California schoolyard
shooting spree as a horrible failure in terms of body count. He fired
approx. 110 shots, hit 34 people, and only KILLED FIVE PEOPLE! From my point
of view, this is hard to believe. There were 29 OTHER people, most LITTLE
CHILDREN who were HIT by GUNFIRE! But Purdy did NOT finish the job. They
WERE on the ground...he just failed to finish them off!

Marc Lepine, on the other hand, shot a total of 27 people; of those 27,
FOURTEEN of them DIED! This is OBVIOUSLY much more impressive than what
Purdy did. More than HALF of those that LEPINE shot ACTUALLY DIED. 14
fatally shot, 13 shot but survived. I personally feel that ANY massacre,
where more than HALF of those shot survive their wounds, must be considered
a failure, at least from the point of this essay. Let me just emphasize once
again that this essay deals with only ONE particular aspect of mass-murder,
and that is how to obtain a MAXIMUM BODY COUNT.

I'm not saying that this is the best or only proper (?) way to do a
mass-murder... I will not argue with anyone who says it is more "courageous"
to do a mass-murder in a police station rather than a schoolyard... But the
entire focus of this essay is centered on the one goal of MAX. DEATH!

O.k., let us now briefly examine the "element of suprise attack" and
it's importance to mass-murder. I do NOT think it is a very crucial element.
The fact is that most EVERY mass-murder is a TOTAL suprise. NOBODY can EVER
predict that a certain person will attempt a mass-shooting on a particular
day in a particular place. The only precautions a gunman needs to take
involves simple common sense. If you write threatening letters in which you
indicate that you are planning a massacre in a particular location, then you
are a FOOL! If you are driving towards the place you plan to do a
mass-killing and you get out of your car a block away and walk the final
block with your rifle clearly visible to everyone on the street, then you
are a FOOL! I'm sure you get the point- If you are serious about doing this
and use ordinary common sense in your approach, then the "element of suprise
attack" will be successful.

The next point is "picking a poorly defended place to attack". This is a
bit more complicated. Obviously, to maximize the body count, you do not
attack a police station. You may kill 3 or 4 pigs, but since there is an
abundance of firearms there, eventually a pig will shoot you! I'm not
knocking this idea- it's damn decent... but if you wish to achieve a maximum
body count, it's the WRONG way to go!

It is a fact that LOTS of ordinary people own guns for self-protection
purposes. Anytime you attempt a mass-murder, you run the risk of an ordinary
citizen pulling out a gun and shooting you. This CAN happen in most any
situation, although some things DO increase the likelihood. ANY massacre
attempt in a truly large or wide-open area such as an amusement park,
stadium, movie theatre, etc. involves a considerably high risk. One of the
places with the LEAST risk are SCHOOLS: large number of people to kill, and
a very minimal risk of return-fire. Another ideal situation is one in which
the gunman is familiar with the people he is killing. For example: a man can
throw a big party for all his close "friends" and relatives. In most cases,
he will know with near certainty that none of these people carry guns, thus
virtually no risk of return-fire.

Another useful tool in CERTAIN situations is the FRISKING of people for
weapons. This is NOT APPLICABLE in MANY situations due to the time factor.
But if a gunman enters a confined area with no suspicion aroused to anyone
on the outside, then he could produce his weapon, point it at the people,
order them to put their hands over their heads, and then perform a frisk on
each person. Then, he can open fire and begin the massacre with complete
confidence, knowing that none of the victims are armed.

One thing is certain: When you attempt a mass-murder, you risk your own
life in the process. You must be willing to die. This does NOT mean that you
should commit suicide at the end of the massacre, or that you should force a
gun battle with the police when they arrive on the scene. If you choose
these options that is up to you, and I respect that.

I would not do either of these two things. I do not hate myself. I hate
other people and I hate society in general. I may be WILLING to die, hell, I
MUST be willing to die if I attempt a mass-killing... This does NOT mean,
however, that I am EAGER to die, or have a "death wish".

Let us move merrily along to: "Inability of Victims to Escape From
Confined Areas". This is rather important, and is something that is
sometimes overlooked. Mass-murder can happen in an open area, such as a
stadium, concert, etc... or just prowling the streets... Witness Howard
Unruh, who killed 13 people in one day prowling the streets of Camden, New
Jersey back in 1949...

However, entrapping and containing a group of people in a confined area
would seem to be the best way to maximize the kill count. A gunman who plans
to attack a certain building, house, or room should attempt to familiarize
himself with the layout of the structure. The basic questions must be: How
many exits to the outside are there from the structure, how many does each
particular room have, and where do they lead? You need to take into account
the fact that every individual room could be used as a confined area. Most
buildings have MORE than ONE exit, even private houses have a front and back
exit. If you do not think this through in your mind, the consequences can be
VERY serious. You MUST know where the exits are located in order to plan an
attack.

If the building that you plan to attack is a small one with only people
that you have chosen to kill inside, then you must find a way to seal off
all exits except the one through which you enter. On the other hand, if the
building is large and you do NOT have any particular victims in mind, it may
not be necessary to seal off outside exits. What you can do is create a
"confined area" in INDIVIDUAL ROOMS. Most rooms have only one door leading
into a hallway. There is no exit from the room onto the street, only into a
hallway. With only one door, it is a cinch to block this door with your own
presence and massacre all the people in that room. If the rooms have
windows, then you need to consider this as a possible method of escape.

Another useful detail is whether the door opens from the inside outward,
or from outside inward. Let me give you an example of an ideal massacre
situation: a large room full of people located in a large building, no
windows in the room, only one door leading into the hallway, and this door
opens from the outside inward, meaning that someone in the hallway would
have to push the door FORWARDS to enter the room. This scenario would be
IDEAL for a massacre. Mass-murderer heaven (or should I say hell?). Of
course, it's not necessary to have this "perfect" type of situation in order
to do a successful massacre... ANY type of building or room can be turned
into a "confined area" as long as the gunman is familiar with the layout.
Blocking off all of a buildings exits prior to a massacre with the use of a
large bottle of gasoline (setting off a fire in front of each exit) is one
possibility.

The next item is : "A Good Mental State of the Shooter". To some people
it may sound strange to refer to a "good mental state" during a mass-murder
rampage, but I see nothing strange about it. There is absolutely NOTHING
inherently insane about mass-murder- it is a conscious, rational decision
that a person reaches after considering all the options and deciding the act
of killing a group of people is a worthwhile and logical thing to do, based
on this person's own reality and life experience. I think this is true for
most mass-murderers.

Sometimes a gunman has been found to be HIGH on drugs and/or alcohol at
the time of the massacre. This is NOT common. Most massacres occur when the
gunman is COMPLETELY SOBER. My personal opinion is that a person who is
stone-cold sober as he massacres his victims is more likely to get genuine
pleasure from the killings. More importantly, the massacre will be a
completely honest and true expression of his anger, rather than having the
emotions expanded or diluted by drugs and/or alcohol.

I feel that this is even MORE important if the gunman plans to NOT
commit suicide- If he is captured, he will spend the REST OF HIS LIFE either
in jail or a mental hospital. The WONDERFUL MEMORY of HIS massacre will have
to sustain him for the REST OF HIS LIFE! If he was high during the massacre,
his memory could easily be distorted or blurry. On the other hand, if he was
stone sober, the details will remain etched on his mind and soul for as long
as he lives, at least this is my opinion.

The gunman also needs to have: "A Single and Clear-cut Goal". Ideally,
he will have replayed the massacre THOUSANDS of times in his MIND BEFORE he
actually commits it... This way, every scenario that could possibly occur
will have been thought out by the gunman. AND...he will have chosen to act
on the one that will bring him the MOST PLEASURE- the one that he views as
being most true to his own personal hate and anger and view of the world
that created him and turned him into a person unable to feel compassion for
any other human being.

The massacre itself must be single-minded, as there will be NO TIME to
THINK about the actual scene as the bullets are flying... The memory will be
forever etched in his mind, but as it's coming down ALL thoughts MUST be on
the practical: changing magazines, aiming at the different people, moving
from one area to another, on guard for any counter-attack, etc...

I personally feel that in most cases one thought is flashing through his
mind over and over as the bullets fly out of his weapon and into human
flesh- and that thought is "WHY?" I think that as he kills, as he sees the
blood pouring, the life ebbing out of other human beings because of him,
deep within his soul he is thinking "WHY?". No, he feels NOT ONE SHRED of
pity or remorse... He is simply recalling his own dead soul and mourning for
himself. He is mourning his own dead soul as he murders the people. This is
how I view the act of mass-murder.

Hey everybody!!! I think I've finished... Wuz dat a heavy trip, or what???
As you probably realize by now, I wasn't bullshittin' when I wrote in the
beginning of this essay that Frankster has had a major dose of mass-murder
on his brain. Now all of youse guys and gals have a tiny snippet of my
reality. Just be grateful and thankful that you don't actually have my brain
with you for a lifetime like I do. All of you can just put down this zine,
throw it in the garbage, or stuff it on a shelf and go back to your own
realitys. I can't do that. THIS is MY reality and it NEVER goes away... It's
here EVERY MINUTE of EVERY DAY of EVERY YEAR until the day I die.

As usual, I welcome ANY and ALL comments, questions, ideas, theorys,
etc... Either positive or negative, it does not matter- NOBODY can EVER
reach deep enough into my soul to change my mind about anything, but I do
like to hear other people's thoughts and opinions.

Thanks for reading my mind.

An Endless Pursuit for a Satisfying Pain: An interview with Craig Pillard of Disma

At what point in your life did the desire to listen to something heavier come into play? What were some of the earlier bands/artists that caught your ear in the early years, metal or non?

When I was about 7 or 8 years old at my grandparents house in upstate NY listening to my uncles Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, David Bowie record vinyls... Those records are what influenced me as a kid and I still love listening to those records to this day...

I know that you had a couple of different projects going on back in the mid/late 80's such as 'Nocturnal Crypt', 'Desecrator', 'Carnage' and so on. Could you tell me a little bit about this time in your life?

I was quite an isolated pre-teen and teenager with tons of rage that found comfort in playing my guitar and drum/keyboard, so during those years at my mothers house in my basement bedroom I would cassette boombox record songs that i would play live. At times these projects/songs/ideas would change to different ideas and titles. It could only be played by myself with me screaming through the air, playing my guitar and using my big toe to change sample beats on the Cassio keyboard all at the same time! So for a good couple years thats how I would get my aggression out by myself with no one to jam with. And yes I still do have those horrible cassettes.

What was the metal scene in Jersey like back in those days?

A big thrash/punk scene as I remember with local Jersey bands like, Gargoyle, Fantom Warrior, Instant Death, Cyanamid, Lethal Aggression, etc. all great garage bands!!

Could you tell me a little about Putrifact?

Putrifact started while I was still in my last year of high school in '89... on the weekends I would drive from Whitehouse Sta. to Patterson to play with Omar, Art, and Victor in Art's fathers basement.. It was the first real band that I felt a part of and will never forget those guys.

Alright, the inevitable: How far back did your relationship with the Incantation guys go and what were the circumstances that led to your joining the band?

While I was still playing with Putrifact, I had met John McEntee at one of our shows and he gave me his Incantation 4-song demo. Shortly after that we started hanging and I remember helping Incantation get to a local show with my van. Then Bill Venner lost interest and I had replaced him as a guitar player only. Will Rahmer at that time technically was still helping/in Incantation as the vocalist. Then Will had parted ways to focus on his band Mortician. I then took over vocals as a result, all this happened toward the end of '90.

I remember years ago, shortly after the release of the second 7" (Deliverance...) hearing about a split album that you guys were going to do with Amorphis. What was the reason why that didn't happen and were you pleased to see it's eventual release in the form of the 'Blasphemous Cremation' -ep-?

Those 2-songs on the "Deliverance.." 7" were actually used from the same recording that was meant for the Incan/Amorphis split. The main reason for this NOT happening was as I remember John felt it would hurt rather than help our recording, so we decided with Relapse to do the 7" and then a full length instead of the split. And yes im very pleased it finally came out as "Blasphemous Cremation" CD/Vinyl.

I've always been curious, especially after listening to Womb and Disciples of Mockery, aside from performing the vocals, how much of the actual riff writing did you contribute to 'Onward to Golgotha'?

I wrote all the lyrics for and some of the riffs in these songs: Golgotha, Blasphemous Cremation, Rotting Spiritual Embodiment, Christening the Afterbirth, Immortal Cessation, and Deliverance of Horrific Prophecies... the other 4 songs on the album where from the demo days..

How much of the dank and cavernous sound of that album would you attribute to 'Trax East'?

I would say our shitty equipment contributed mostly to the "Onward.." sound as well as John's persistence to Steve Evetts our engineer to keep adding low end to the guitar mix... after a while I think Steve just gave up and said whatever....

I've always been curious as to why Ronnie split. What were the circumstances that led to his departure?

Ronny was absolutely an amazing bass player probably the best Ive ever played with! He was probably the smarter one of the band to leave when he did... He and John just couldnt work together anymore... not much more to say on that.

Could you tell me a little bit about the writing process for 'Mortal Throne...'? How involved were you with that?

"Mortal.." was a totally neglected masterpiece that was disgraced in its so called final mix after Jim and I had left the band... hence the reason for the later limited release of "Upon the Throne of Apocalypse" which is the rough mix version of "Mortal Throne.."
I had contributed a lot to this album with all the titles/lyrics and a bunch of riffs in songs like: "Emaciated Holy Figure", Essence Ablaze, The Ibex Moon, Blissful Bloodshower, and Abolishment of Immaculate Serenity. I felt this album deserves a proper re-mix and re-release, maybe someday it will have its proper justice rendered!

At what point did you and Jimmy decide to beat feet out of the Incantation camp and what were your reasons?

Jim had expressed to me in '93 that he was extremely dissatisfied plating in Incantation anymore... so he left and fortunately came back to record "mortal Throne.." temporarily since he did not want his creativity to those songs go to waste. Then in the summer of '94 after a show at the wetlands in NYC I had told John I was leaving the band. The main reasons for me was the lost chemistry between Jimmy, Ronny, and I along with John was not there anymore, as well as the total lack of communication between John and I was to the breaking point... I knew the band was Dead!

How did the idea for Disciples of Mockery come about, and even though I'm pretty sure where the name came from, could you elaborate on that as well?

The idea and name was first utilized at a show well documented in the August '99 issue of Metal maniacs by Tomas Pascual. The show was the '94 Deathstock festival at the Wetlands in NYC. Jim, Ronny and I went under the name Disciples of Mockery and had been booked to play as an opener for John's new and improved Incantation. Tomas P. was under the impression that we where a new band that will be performing new original songs... I had even omited the lineup of D.O.M. to Tomas who also booked the event. We had performed a set of all Incantation songs flawlessly as a 3-piece... The crowd was suprised to say the least as well as John who had to go on soon after us. All I can say about the 'new' Incantation at the time was shameful and could only do 2-songs live before walking off stage... bittersweet...yes...and on video..somewhere. Shortly after that show, Jim,Ronny and I had dropped the name D.O.M. and started a 2-bass guitar doom band called Womb which had lasted a demo and a bunch of shows long... Then the name D.O.M. re-emerged with the 3 of us jamming together with another guitar player Mike Boyce. We then did a demo in '97and a full length CD in '99 called "Prelude to Apocalypse"...doing a bunch of local shows in support of that release, then disbanding in 2000.

I understand you were caught up in the throes of addiction for a spell. How far down the rabbit hole did you wind up during this time?

During and after the Womb years I had lived in NYC for about 3 years and acquired a bad liking to the big H. When I moved back to Jersey in '97 it had saved my life I think... The experience and the depths that I had explored most people would never recover from, Ive seen it first hand... for me it was a struggle and an endless pursuit for a satisfying pain that I had eventually overcome by sheer willpower and many a detox.

Did you ever find yourself feeling hopeless or did you figure that you'd eventually pull through and return to a life of "normalcy"?

Most of my life I was hopeless and did not care what had happened to me...so no, even in those days I had no understanding of 'real life' or 'normalcy'. I don't think I will ever come to know or understand those words even now.

Do you feel that your experiences throughout this time have made you stronger of will and have given you a greater perception of the world around you?

Perception of the world is only understood by the insane in my opinion... also who defines 'sane' anyways? The self afflictions that Ive undertook through the years has made me what I am now... strength is a matter of perception... the power of 'will' is what endures.

How did the idea to form Womb come about and what was the inspirational vibe to create that sound/feeling?

Ive always wanted to try a 2-bass sound, but to play them like overgrown guitars... The sound that emanates is quite bold and dark if executed properly.. ie one bass playing rhythm and the other lead harmonies over the rhythm parts.. After our departure from Incantation, this new concept of mine was finally realized and to this day I love the idea.

I understand that you have strong feelings in regards to racial pride/heritage. Could you elaborate on this and shed some light on the Sturmfuhrer project as well?

My political views are very misconstrued... I love military/political history and always have.. to create a sound that brings people back to a time thats uncomfortable for some is not my problem... All extreme music is fair game in my opinion, and to be limited to one or so ideas because of fear of offending some people is NOT true art!

How did your involvement in Evoken come about and how much involvement did you have in the creative process for the album, 'Antithesis of Light'?

It was an absolute joy and honor for me to play bass with my friends in Evoken... at that time in '06 Evoken needed a bass player so I jumped at the opportunity and started jamming with them on bass for about 2 years which included the recording of "A Caress of the Void" album... not Antithesis, which was before i stepped in. Then shortly after we recorded 'A Caress.." I began writing/recording my own material for my other project Methadrone.. so then I departed on good terms in '08... I had minimal input writing with Evoken, I just wrote my own bass parts in some of the songs and did keys on the last song Orogeny from "A Caress of the Void".

Even though everyone makes a big deal about the musical scenes in Sweden, Norway, Florida, etc, I always noticed that the New Jersey/Tri-state area has long had a rather decrepit and rotten style bubbling beneath the surface with bands such as Symphony of Grief, Incantation, Evoken, Heirophant, Solemn and Deteriorot among many others. Do you feel that there is a "regional" sound among the Jersey bands and do you feel any sort of camaraderie with the bands from your area?

Being in multiple bands throughout the years here in NJ id have to say theres a strong comraderie between me and some of the bands for sure.. As a 'regional' sound goes, id have to say no. The great thing about most good bands from the area is they have their 'own' sounds rather than a 'regional' one in my opinion.

How did your involvement with Disma come about?

Ive known Bill, Daryl and Randi for years in fact played with them in previous bands/projects. A year after they had formed as Disma I had joined in on vox only after they had asked me a year earlier to join. I was busy recording/mixing one of my Methadrone albums, that had hindered my entering a year previous.

What are your feelings about the current state of death/doom metal and are there any bands out there that have caught your ear lately?

Personally I wouldn't be able to put a fair response to that since I have not kept up with the current scene really... lately the only 'metal' I've been digging is some of the new Morbid Angel cd because of the obvious Laibach influence...

I know that you do not listen to metal exclusively. Who are some of the other artists whose sounds you've been enjoying as of late?

I dont listen to much of anything anymore, but when I do its usually Swans, Laibach, Jesu, Hans Zimmer soundtracks....

Any chance of some new DOM/Womb material and whatever happened to Ronnie?

I would like to do a Womb full length sometime, I feel Womb was never completed as a project... A nice full length release would do it justice I think. As far as D.O.M. I have no interest in re-forming that project, I believe that idea is now moot... Ronnie is a really amazing artist and it would be an honor to jam with him again... unfortunately his summoning with Jim and I have fell on deaf ears which is a shame... Maybe one day we will even hear from him, for he is truly missed, and possibly lost forever..

Alright Craig... many, many thanks for taking time out to do this my Brother. Any last words for the dying and the damned?

Thanks a million Josh for the stellar interview all the best to you... and I'd like to thank everyone who has and supports my many musical journeys, and of course Disma!

Jesters of Recession: An interview with Chris Free of Rottrevore

Could you tell me a little bit about the formation of Rottrevore and at what point did you get involved?

I am one of the Original members, we formed back in 1989. I have to laugh because I was 16 years old when Rottrevore got started. Back then it was just Chris Weber . mark mastro & myself.. we started writing songs in my parents basement.. our first song we wrote was Disembodied..

What was the metal scene in Pittsburgh like back in the 80's/early 90's?

My opinion of the Pittsburgh metal scene back then is pretty jaded. Pittsburgh in general is not known for its metal scene.. Back then this was a Hair metal/ ac/dc type town. We rarely ever played locally due to the fact that I think we scared people.. I remember when we went to a few open mic nights for fun… The look on peoples face looked like they just got violated.. and im not joking…

What were some of your earlier musical influences? What were some of the bands/albums that you were jamming out to back then?

I personally was always a fan of grave, entombed, bolt thrower among other more main stream metal … When I first started playing bass I was hung up on Overkill, because of their bass sound! I have a pretty open mind when it comes to music. I even remember back then listening to Racer X and yngwie malmsteen..

Whose idea was it to tune the guitars so low and what were the musical intentions of the band in the early days?

I believe the idea was a mixture of Mark Mastro and Chris weber.. Back then it was extremely Rare to be tuned to Low B.. now it seems to be common place and guitars even come tuned this way.

How did your relationship with Relapse records come into play?

Since it has been a very long time since we were on relapse records it’s a little hard to remember.. I remember mark mastro was in constant communication with them and they decided to let us release a EP with them . That’s back in the day when relapse was ran out of their basement!

What are your feelings on how things played out with them?

I have No ill feeling with relapse records at all. I still talk to bill from time to time. Good guys!

After the release of the 'Copulation of the Virtuous and Vicious' 7", you guys released your second ep, 'Fornication in Delirium' through the Dutch label, Cenotaph Records. How did this relationship come about?

I believe mark mastro worked out that deal as well. Since it has been over 20 yrs now it’s a little hard to remember all the details. I do remember the relationship being a Good one!

Later the next year you guys released 'Iniquitous' through Dave Rotten's label, 'Drowned'. What were the circumstances that led to this and were you guys happy with the end result?

I actually found that deal with Dave Rotten and drowned productions. At that time we were pleased to be working with them.. Some people might have read where mark mastro and dave had a major falling out! This was due to a lack on communications from daves boss at that time.. see back then dave didn’t own the label he only worked for them. And we were waiting for copies of our LP so that we could see them at our shows..

I understand that at some point afterwards you guys had broke up with a few reunions scattered throughout the last 15 or so years. Could you elaborate on the events that led to the band's breakup and the attempts at restarting the band?

Honestly I wont lie, I was the one that left the band first. I left the band even before the LP was released.. I was getting sick of our local scene and even how often we got shows back then.. I was also starting to develop my playing style and was feeling to need to play with as many different people and styles of music as possible… The main part of my leaving was lack of shows.. I did do a few show when chris weber wanted to reform from time to time. But I made it clear I was Not rejoining at that time..

I understand that you were involved in a progressive metal project during the 90's. Could you tell me a bit about this?

Yes funny you asked that. I just mentioned in question 8 that I branched out a little.. back in 1993 when we played with Bolt thrower I decided to go from a 4 string bass to a 6 string bass.. I knew at that moment I wanted to explore this instrument. I later found a group of trained musicians that needed a bass player.. I tried out with them and instantly got the spot. I had the desire to learn and grow and they had the talent and skills to help me progress further.. We released a 4 songs demo and played some really Great shows! We even won a few battle of the bands (just for fun) I then later decided to leave that band as well.. (see a pattern forming here? Lol) I then got it in my head that I needed to go to school … I then took a many years Off from playing and decided it was time to get my life in order so that I wouldn’t be old and living in my parents basement! LOL I focused on getting my own life in order without relying on trying to make a living with music.. especially with death metal!

What were the events that led to the eventual reformation of Rottrevore?

Chris weber gave me a phone call and we talked about recording New songs and songs we started to write but never finished… and at point I had enough of a break from music and my life/career was in order. It was a lot of work to get back in shape to play in Rottrevore..

Any idea of what Mark Mastro is doing these days?

Mark mastro is a male stripper.. No im kidding. He has a Great family and is doing the family man thing..

What are your thoughts on the current state of death metal as opposed to the early years?

In my humble opinion, the death metal scene is flooded with bands. Everyone with a computer and access to youtube wants to form a band. There is nothing wrong with new bands, its just people who never played a instrument before go out and form a band and spend more time on building a website than practicing their instrument… I guess im old school? “Learn to play first, then start a band”.

Any new bands that have caught your ear in the last few years?

There are a few new bands I am digging.. death and non death metal.. Symphony X, Dethklok, I even listen to and have been for a while Dream Theater.

Name 3 albums that you cannot live without:

Left Hand Path, War Master, Trilogy

I understand that Rottrevore hasn't had the best luck in the world throughout the years. Care to share any "horror stories"?

Hell yeah,. We had so much bad luck we always joked about our BLACK CLOUD of Doom.. we had shows that we would drive a few states to get too then the promoter skipped out and didn’t pay us! We had a rental van break down on us. Then they took US (Rottrevore) to court and they won!! The car lot was brother in laws with the judge! We were doomed from the start.. We had many amp problems in the past. You name it we had it happen to us.. that was part of what worn me down, and why I left..

Alright Chris, thanks a bunch for doing this! Any last words for the dying and the damned?

Thank you very much for taking the time to think of Rottrevore after all these years and I would like to share our 3 new songs that we released late 2011 for FREE online.. Not only are they free to listen too, but these 3 songs are free to Download and share… http://www.reverbnation.com/rottrevore

Andrei Chikatilo - The Rostov Ripper

Having murdered 52 people, Andrei Chikatilo counts as one of the most successful (is that an appropriate adjective to use?) serial killers in Russia. He had a thing for children, but his victims were also grown women and boys. Aside from being a serial killer, Andrei Chikatilo was also a cannibal who ate human flesh and as a man who couldn’t get a hard-on with women, he took great pleasure torturing his victims. The killing techniques ranged but involved slashing, stabbing, decapitating, strangling and drowning. Once dead, Andrei Chikatilo would mutilate his victims’ genitals and cannibalize them while drinking their blood. The gallery below contains Andrei Chikatilo crime scene photos. Scroll down to see what famous Russian serial killer left after himself. If you would like to learn more about Andrei Chikatilo, who was also known as “Citizen X” or “The Butcher of Rostov”, read on.

Andrei Chikatilo Biography

His full name was Andrei Romanovich Chikatilo. He was born on October 16, 1936 in the village of Yablochnoye in Ukraine, which was at the time a part of Soviet Russia. Growing up in Ukraine just before and during WWII wasn’t particularly easy. People were decimated by a famine cause by collectivization of farm lands enforced by Stalin’s communist regime and when German bombing raids started, Ukraine took a lot of it as for the Nazis, all roads to Russia led through Ukraine.

Andrei Chikatilo Childhood

Andrei Chikatilo knew nothing but hardship throughout his childhood. He may also have suffered from water on the brain (medically known as hydrocephalus) at birth, which is believed to have been the cause of his erection problems and other urinary issues, such as bed wetting. Basically, he was an impotent, but as if all that weren’t enough, Andrei Chikatilo was also subject to mockery and bullying by other kids in school after his father was captured by the Nazi army. Stalin’s rule had it that any soldier who “allowed” himself to get captured was a coward. This fact was used against Andrei Chikatilo by his peers a lot.

The combination of hardship, health issues with the genital-urinary tract as well as psychological torture from the peers resulted in the development of a child that was very shy. As Andrei Chikatilo reached puberty, he started feeling sexual attraction to members of opposite sex, but with non existent self confidence he had no luck with the girls. His first sexual experience came at the age of 15 when he took a girl by power but ejaculated before any intercourse took place. This misfortune brought more ridicule from his peers upon him.
In 1960, after he failed to get to Moscow State University he moved to a town in Russia called Rodionovo-Nesvetayevsky which was near Rostov. His younger sister who moved to Rodionovo-Nesvetayevsky was aware of his problems with girls and tried to help him out. Her efforts paid off as she managed to hook his brother up with a local girl Fayina. Three years later – in 1963 Fayina and Andrei got married. Despite his erection problems, Andrei Chikatilo was still able to ejaculate and fathered two children.

After his marriage and birth of children, Andrei Chikatilo lived a normal life of a father of the family for over a decade. He started working as school teacher, however complaints about assaults against underage children were piling up and he was forced to move from one school to another. It went on like that for a while until 1978 when he eventually settled in a mining town near Rostov called Shakhty where he started teaching at local school.

Lena Zakotnova – Andrei Chikatilo’s First Murder

Andrei Chikatilo committed his first murder in the town of Shakhty on December 22, 1978. He was 42 year old – quite unusual as most serial killers start with their deeds in early twenties. He brought nine year old Lena Zakotnova to an abandoned shed with intentions to rape her but because of his impotency, he could not get an erection. When little Lena attempted to fight back, Andrei Chikatilo pulled out a knife and started stabbing the girl. The struggle, the blood, the murder – it was such a rush for him that he reached orgasm. This experience further affirmed to him that sexual pleasure is derived from violence. After Lena was dead, The Butcher of Rostov threw her in the Grushovka River where she was found on Christmas Eve.

Even though Andrei Chikatilo was seen with Lena Zakotnova just before her death and even though there was blood found on the steps of his house, the convictions were dropped after he was provided alibi by his wife. The police went on to arrest Alexsandr Kravchenko who had previous rape convictions. Alexsandr Kravchenko was eventually executed for murder of Lena Zakotnova he did not commit. The police reports say that Alexsandr Kravchenko confessed to her murder – would be interesting to know what method the police use to force him into admitting to murder he never committed, knowing that such confession would lead to his death. He was executed in 1984.

Andrei Chikatilo Victims

After murder of Lena Zakotnova, Andrei Chikatilo took a 3 year break from killing. Then in 1981 the urge to kill came again after he was given a job which required him to travel a lot. He developed a strategy that worked well. He was able to pick children who were easy victims and lured them with a “free candy” trick. The objective was to lure the victims into the woods as he found the quiet, abandoned areas of the forest to be a perfect setting for killing and ejaculating.

His second victim was 17 year old Larisa Tkachenko whom he stabbed, strangled and choked with fallen leaves and dirt in order to prevent her from making noises that could attract attention. He formerly did not intend to stab her, just wanted to have sex with her. Larisa Tkachenko was a prostitute however Andrei Chikatilo was unable to achieve erection so she started to mock him – bad idea! She ended up having her nipple cannibalized and a stick shoved up her vagina.

The murder of Larisa Tkachenko re-ignited his sexual desire and satisfaction he drew from violence and killing. As his job required him to travel a lot, he would make friends with young people at bus and train stops. He would lure them into the woods where he would rape (or attempt to rape) them, and sexually assault them with a knife. The knife became his extended penis as his actual penis would often fail.
Andrei Chikatilo did not commit his third murder until June 12, 1982. Lyuba Biryuk from Zaplavskaya village was lured into the woods where she was stabbed 40 times and had her eyes slashed with a knife. This became the trademark of Citizen X murders and was meant to eliminate his imprint in victims’ eyes. He would also start carving out sexual organs of his victims which he would then eat. A serial killer would become a cannibal. He also found pleasure in mutilating victims’ tongues and other facial parts.

By the end of 1982, Andrei Chikatilo killed additional three people, including his first male victim – nine year old Oleg Podzhidaev. Between January and September of 2004, his victim count rose by 15. Most of the victims were found in the forests, close to the railway tracks which landed the unknown murderer new name – Shelter Belt Killer. This also resulted in increased police presence at bus and train stops as it became apparent that Shelter Belt Killer picks his victims up there.

In February of 1984, Andrei Chikatilo was arrested for theft of linoleum from his work place. Then in September he was arrested again after a patrolling officer saw him approach women in a suspicious way at the Rostov bus station. He was a suspect in the shelter belt murders, but was released after 3 months as his blood type didn’t match the blood type of the semen found at crime scenes. DNA sampling did not exist at the time and in some cases the blood type of semen would mismatch an actual blood type of the person who this semen is from.

Moscow detective major Mikhail Fetisov was deployed to Roscov to investigate the killings. As person in charge of the investigation, Mikhail Fetisov named the killer “The Rostov Ripper” and involved experienced forensic analyst Victor Burakov in investigation. Victims were mounting one after another, but the investigation was returning no results.

His next two kills came in 1985. These were both separate incidents involving women. Subsequent two year killing break was interrupted in May 1987 when Andrei Chikatilo killed a young boy in Revda, Ukraine where he went on a business trip. As part of his job, spent a lot of time travelling and picked himself new victims at places he visited, far from Rostov. Zaporozhye in central Ukraine was a playground for his July, 1987 kill and another victim was killed in Russian Leningrad in September of the same year.

In 1988 Andrei Chikatilo killed two boys in separate incidents in Krasny-Sulin and five other people in 1989. Then he took a break for a few months again and resumed killing in January 1990 murdering two women and seven young boys. Since victims were piling up and reached several dozen, the police have intensified the manhunt and Rostov area was under constant surveillance, including countless undercover cops. Issa Kostoyev took over the investigation and went as far as to study another Russian serial killer and also consulted the psychology who created a detailed profile of the killer.

Arrest of Andrei Chikatilo

When Andrei Chikatilo murdered and mutilated Sveta Korostik on November 6, 1990 he was spotted by an undercover cop operating around the Leskhoz train station as he was leaving the crime scene – you guessed it… the forest. Since no Russians go to the forest in November, unless to gather wild mushrooms, Andrei immediately raised suspicion. He was dressed nothing like a person who’d go for a hike in the woods and was carrying a bag made of nylon – something you can’t use when picking up mushrooms. His formal attire was dirty and showed signs of blood on several places.

His looks and behavior were seen as suspicious, but he was not arrested, only had his IDs checked. The police who stopped him didn’t see a reason for arrest – luckily for Andrei who carried amputated breasts of Sveta Korostik in his nylon bag which was never checked – but he filed a routine report on persons he checked. When dead body of Sveta Korostik was later discovered, autopsy confirmed date and time of her death and since her corpse was found in the forest close to the Leskhoz train station and time of her kill was suspiciously close to the time a suspiciously acting man came out of the forest in the area, the police started to see Andrei Chikatilo as the man known only by nick names given to him – Citizen X, Butcher of Rostov, The Rostov Ripper, The Red Ripper or Shelter Belt Killer. However the arrest was not made as the police still had his blood samples from previous arrests which suggested that his blood and semen found at crime scenes belonged to different people. The police had him under round the clock watch, though.

The actual apprehension took place on November 20, 1990. Andrei Chikatilo was seen wandering the city and approaching children in all forms of suspicious ways. The interrogation was returning no results, even though Russian ways of treatment of criminals are rather questionable (see confession of Alexsandr Kravchenko who admitted murdering Lena Zakotnova which landed him the death sentence, even though Lena was killed by Andrei Chikatilo – Russian police must definitely have the ways to make their prisoners confess to whatever they wish, however they were not successful with Andrei Chikatilo).

According to Russian law, the police had 10 days to either prosecute him, or release him. However hard evidence was missing and Andrei was not confessing to anything despite questionable interrogation methods. Finally, the police involved a psychiatrist and after a long talk, Andrei Chikatilo confessed to murdering 56 people. He took the police to crime scenes and demonstrated how he killed their victims there. At the time, Butcher of Rostov was only suspected of committing 36 murders as others were either done far away from Rostov, or the bodies were never found. Because some of his victims could not be recovered not even after his confessions to 56 murders, he was charged with murders of 52 people.

Trial and Execution of Andrei Chikatilo

Because of how severe his murders were, the trial of Andrei Chikatilo looked something like The Silence of the Lambs. He was kept inside the steel cage while in court room – however it was mostly for his protection, not anybody else’s. He was also under non-stop video surveillance in prison because many inmates and prison workers were related to his victims (with 56 victims, chances are good he would have killed someone who’s got connections to the jail).

During trial, Andrei Chikatilo occasionally acted funny. He probably knew that he was gonna get executed so he was having himself a good time being prosecuted. At some point he exclaimed that he was pregnant during court hearing. Other of his famous quotes include profession that he was lactating. He also let his exhibitionist side aloose twice when he dropped his pants and flashed everyone in the courtroom while shouting that he was no homo.

Judge Leonid Akhobzyanov sentenced Andrei Chikatilo to death. Russian president Boris Yeltzin turned down his appeal for clemency and on February 14, 1994 he was executed. The execution was done in a soundproof room with blood drain in the middle within Novocherkassk prison. He was told to face the wall while executioner pointed the gun at him and shot him at the back of his head.
